DRUUMM members were very busy at General Assembly 2007! The DRUUMM Steering Committee met with UUA President, Rev. Bill Sinkford, to discuss the direction of multicultural ministries within our faith; several seminarians from our community were recognized during the Service of Living Tradition; and over 65 folks showed up at our Annual Meeting. Minutes from the Sinkford meeting will be posted shortly, as will other reports from General Assembly.
Do you have a story or experience to share? How about photographs? If so, comment here, or pass that information on to the Communications Coordinator so that the rest of the community can hear from you!

The Youth and Young Adult (YaYA) Caucus is holding a People of Color Work Camp and Leadership Conference in New Orleans June 26-July 3. They are still taking registrations, but the primary cut off is this week in order to get the best fares on air travel for those coming from outside the region. The event will bring together 20 youth and young adults of color for 7 days of community and skill building, in collaboration with local organizations that serve People of Color in New Orleans. The cost is a $75 flat fee, with travel expenses covered for attendees arriving by air. This is an excellent opportunity and a great event! If you are interested, contact Joseph Santos-Lyons as soon as possible to coordinate registration and travel. For more info, view the brochure at the YaYA website.
