HI,
I am wondering about your conference in Denver in November. I am the Choir Director at Columbine UU, in LIttleton, CO. I recently wrote in our newsletter about issues of cultural misappropriation and events surrounding music at GA 2006, informing our congregation about discussions occuring between UUMN, the musician’s network and DRUMM. I am not a person of color. Can anyone attend your conference in Denver?
David,
Not anyone can attend the event. We ask for DRUUMM members and interested UUs of Color to attend out annual event for Unitarian Universalists who identify as people of color.
Our allies, Allies for Racial Equity, meets at the same time as us with separate and joint programming. You may want to contact them to see about attending as an ally. Their web site is at http://www.uuallies.org.
Sincerely,
Christopher Donshale Sims
I did not receive any info on the conference. Am I on the DRUUM list?
We’ll be there, the whole family is road-tripping out from Portland. If anyone needs a lift, we’ll be passing through Boise and SLC.
I’m having trouble finding any specifics on the agenda for the conference? I’m particularly looking for times, so I know when things are happening and how to plan my weekend.
Thanks!
